Harvesters Ministry training Manual

Our biggest asset is our ministry training manual that prepares people in the communities to utilise sport and works of charity as an outreach tool. This manual is tailormade to run over 3-4days and participants are expected to utilise it on others and grow the Kingdom of God.

Harvesters Community Coaching Course

In our bid to empower local communities we have come up with our own Harvesters in Sport 3 day introductory course. this is a basic football coaching course to empower would be coaches in local communities thus enabling them to coach kids in their constituencies. We will be developing coaching programs from time to time to help us remain relevant to the constituencies we work in.

Community work (feeding schemes, drop in centres)

We are in the process of designing a Copmmunity work manual to enable HiS staffers working on feeding schemes, drop in centres etc to be effective tools of ministry.

Soccer School of Excellence:

The soccer school of Excellence (SSE) concept aims to equip children that have not been exposed to the opportunity to play or try out for national team set ups. Striving to provide training that can give young athletes a chance to be grafted at any level of national participation, the concept runs throughout the year and is aimed at those children who are able to pay something to attend these coaching sessions. the funds raised will enable us to get quality equipment and help subsidize our voluntary academies in Bindura and Mount Hampden. The aim of Harvesters is to focus on the rounded development of athletes through their coaches, in order to build up new and stronger generations in Africa. The concept ties in nicely with people development, as it is in line with Harvesters intentions of empowering groups and individuals through sport.

Adult Ministry (Coaching Clinics and Refresher Courses)

We have been bringing in qualified Christian coaches to evangelise and equip local coaches. Since 2005 we have been bringing Mr. Alan Nixon a UEFA Pro licensed coach to come and work with Zimbabwean coaches from across the country. This has enabled us to form a solid relationship with the football federation ZIFA and the national coaches association ZISCA.. Mr Nixon is now our International Ministry Facillitator. We have shared our faith with over 400 adult coaches in Zimbabwe since the inception of this ministry. We wish to grow this to not only cater for soccer coaches but adult church members too through our community based leagues which we will be launching in 2013. These will help churches evangelise and disciple new believers in a non threatening environment as they will meet on the field of play and football pervades all barriers. We will start off with churches in the westgate area and build it up from there.
